Dinner with a Curator: "Warpaint: The Aerial Artistry of World War II"

The National WWII Museum

Tue, Sep 2
6:30pm - 8:30pm

Take a closer look at the patterns, stripes, codes, and colors that helped aviators know who was who in the tumultuous skies.
FULL DESCRIPTION

Beyond clever personalization, the aircraft of World War II were covered with patterns, stripes, codes, and colors that were meant to blend in, stand out, or communicate secret information. Using historic imagery, Museum Curator and Restoration Manager Cory Graff will explore the strange world of g-symbols, leopard spots, invasion stripes, and transit panels that helped aviators know who was who in the tumultuous skies over the battlefield.

Dinner with a Curator is an evening of dinner and history hosted by The American Sector Restaurant & Bar culinary team and Museum professionals. Guests participate in discussion on a featured topic related to World War II, which is interpreted through the Museum's collection and a theme-inspired three-course dinner paired with beverage specials. Ticket sales end 48 hours prior to the start of the event.
