Children love to construct structures with Legos, Lincoln Logs or other toy building materials. Castles, cat houses, train stations—if they can imagine it, they’ll build it. Why not take it a step further? The California Architectural Foundation is teaming up with the American Institute of Architects Monterey Bay to provide a children’s program focusing on famed architect Julia Morgan, who designed more than 700 buildings across California, including many buildings at the Asilomar Conference Grounds, where this event is held. Attendees will learn about Morgan through a book reading and hands-on activities. Maybe your kids will come away inspired to design the next architectural marvel. [EC]
