The World Affairs Council of the Monterey Area (WACMB) announces a Celebration Dinner for the culmination of the 2025 Academic World Quest (AWQ) program, to be held on Thursday, May 15th, at the Hilton Garden Inn, Monterey.

This event will honor the participation of all Monterey County High Schools which competed in the local event this past February to determine the winning team that travelled to Washington DC to join the National Competition held on April 28th.

The World Affairs Council sponsored this Challenge for the third year, and congratulations go to a four-student team from Monterey High School that represented our County in Washington.

The AWQ Program is a rigorous team challenge that assesses students' understanding of international affairs and U.S. foreign policy. The teams answered questions spanning six critical global topics, showcasing their depth of knowledge and collaborative skills.

The AWQ program also inspires the high school students to to become the future leaders and problem solvers that our world needs.
