Wired for Wonder: A Multisensory Maze

Kidspace Children's Museum

$10 - $28

Sat, Feb 15 - Aug 31
10:00am - 8:00pm

Kidspace Museum presents Wired for Wonder: A Multisensory Maze in collaboration with Getty's PST ART: Art & Science Collide
FULL DESCRIPTION

Kidspace partnered with the Getty Conservation Institute (GCI) to develop the concept for an immersive exhibition that explores how humans process sensory information to “know” the world. Wandering the maze is a metaphor for self-exploration, and Wired for Wonder’s interactive experiments and artworks invite visitors to become both scientist and subject, examining how their brain interprets and integrates sensory input with emotion and memory.

Highlights include immersive light domes, a visual cliff, and a tasting bar that proves taste is the most integrated sense. A mirrored projection room with animation created by students from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts creates 360-degree sensory flooding.
The maze is open daily Tuesday to Sunday with evening hours designed especially for adults Thursday, Friday, and Saturday through August.
