Maya Kamaty is a genre-blending artist from Réunion Island, known for fusing maloya—a traditional Creole music—with electro, folk, and urban sounds. Daughter of iconic musician Gilbert Pounia, she carries forward a strong artistic legacy while pushing creative boundaries. Singing in Creole and French, her powerful voice and poetic lyrics explore identity, feminism, and cultural resilience. With international tours and acclaimed albums like Santié Papang and Sovaz, Maya Kamaty is a bold, modern force in global music.
